Lefkada is one of the Ionian Islands, on the West coast of Greece. To the North is Corfu, Paxos and AntiPaxos. To the South are Kefalonia and Zakinthos.

lefkas_entranceAlthough Lefkada is called an island, it is only 50 meters from the mainland and is accessed by a causeway and mobile bridge. The bridge is opened for 10 minutes on the hour, every hour, every day, to permit boats to pass through the channel from the open Ionian Sea to the enclosed sea between Lefkas, Meganissi and the mainland. This makes Lefkada a very easy island to access.
